October 15, 2023. The American Gas Association (AGA) Board of Directors has elected Jerry Norcia, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of DTE Energy in Detroit, MI, to be Chair of the Board for 2024.
“Natural gas has always been a cornerstone for America’s energy portfolio, and it continues to play a vital role in meeting the energy needs of our country,” stated Norcia. “As we move towards a more sustainable energy future, it is crucial to bear in mind the role of natural gas and the critical infrastructure that delivers it in ensuring a balanced, reliable, and affordable energy mix. I am honored to lead AGA during this transformative time and remain committed to enhancing the positive impact of natural gas on our communities, economy, and environment.”
Norcia’s leadership at DTE Energy is marked by his dedication to safety, customer service, and sustainability. He has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, where he worked in executive leadership roles, business development, engineering and operations.

For 2024, AGA’s Board Officers will also include First Vice Chair Lloyd Yates, President & CEO of NiSource Inc. based in Columbus, OH and Second Vice Chair Robert “Sid” McAnnally, President & CEO of ONE Gas, Inc. in Tulsa, OK.
