July 14, 2025. BerQ RNG announced that its subsidiary, Owensboro RNG, LLC, has closed a $36 million credit facility with Comerica Bank to support the construction and development of a renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at the West Daviess County Landfill in Owensboro, Kentucky.
The credit facility includes a term loan and revolving line of credit, which together will fund the majority of construction and commissioning costs for the Owensboro RNG Project. The facility, which is underpinned by a long-term fixed price off-take agreement, underscores BerQ RNG’s continued leadership in sustainable energy development.
“This project represents a significant step forward in our commitment to converting waste into valuable renewable energy, delivering a carbon-neutral solution that benefits the environment,” said Bas van Berkel, CEO of BerQ RNG. “We’re excited to partner with Comerica Bank, who shares our vision and brings deep experience in financing clean energy infrastructure.”
Located at the West Daviess Landfill, the Owensboro RNG Project will capture and refine landfill gas into pipeline-quality RNG. Once completed, it is expected to, significantly reduce methane emissions and contribute to decarbonization efforts in the transportation and energy sectors.
