Titan LNG christens its liquefied natural gas bunkering barge

June 27, 2019. The service supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Titan LNG, has christened its liquefied natural gas bunkering barge, the FlexFueler001, in the port of Amsterdam.

The event marked the official commencement of inland waterway LNG bunkering in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region, the company said. It is worth noting that the barge has already completed its first LNG bunkering operation earlier this month.

At the moment, the FlexFueler001, is operated by Amulet Marine Services and serves vessels ranging from tankers, containerships to ro-ro’s. The operations are becoming increasingly efficient, both in the Port of Amsterdam, the Port of Rotterdam, and in the near future in Antwerp as well.

The FlexFueler001 is the first of a series of vessels. Titan LNG will deploy the FlexFueler002, currently under construction and ready by mid-2020, in the Port of Antwerp. The third vessel will be announced in the coming months, the company’s statement reads.
