September 6, 2026. Divert, Inc., a circular economy company on a mission to prevent food from being wasted, announced new organic designations for two of its food-derived liquid fertilizers, expanding the company’s ability to return valuable nutrients recovered from unsold food to agriculture.

“Food that would otherwise go to landfill can now be converted into renewable energy and nutrients that go back into the food system,” said Ryan Begin, CEO and co-founder of Divert. “With fertilizer and energy costs remaining high, reliable, domestically produced sources of both make good business and environmental sense. Divert’s Circular Infrastructure Platform is designed to make that circular model work at national scale.”
At the heart of its Platform, Divert’s Integrated Diversion & Energy Facilities process unsold food that can no longer be donated, recovering resources that might otherwise go to waste. Divert® Food-Derived Fertilizers offer a commercial scale, closed loop pathway to improving nutrient availability. In addition to recovering these valuable nutrients, Divert’s facilities convert unsold food into carbon-negative renewable energy, reclaim food-bound water for beneficial reuse, and generate data that helps its customers reduce waste and increase donations.
