August 22, 2026. Waga Energy and Decatur Hills Landfill, part of the family-owned waste management group Best Way Disposal, have commissioned a new renewable natural gas (RNG) production unit in Greensburg, Indiana.
Using Waga Energy’s patented WAGABOX® technology, the facility upgrades landfill gas into pipeline-quality RNG. Designed to process up to 1,000 scfm of raw biogas, the unit can produce approximately 203,000 MMBtu (60 GWh) of RNG per year.
The RNG produced on-site is injected directly into the local gas grid through a 3-kilometer pipeline connection financed by Waga Energy and Decatur Hills Landfill. By replacing fossil natural gas, the project is expected to avoid more than 15,800 metric tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions per year, according to estimates based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Landfill Gas Energy Benefits Calculator.
The facility is Waga Energy’s eighth RNG production unit in operation in the United States and marks a new step in the company’s continued growth across North America.
