Lebanon Transit compressed natural gas station to be opening

January 11, 2019. On Tuesday January 22 at 10:00am, Lebanon Transit will hold a grand opening for its new compressed natural gas (CNG) station aside the authority’s headquarters located at 200 Willow Street in Lebanon.

The station was built as part of a $84.5 million public-private partnership between the state and Trillium CNG to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain CNG fueling stations at 29 public transit agency sites for a 20-year period. Transportation Secretary Leslie S. Richard announced the “P3” project in May 2016 as a way for PennDOT to get these stations installed faster than through a traditional procurement process.

Lebanon Transit has not yet selected a long-term vendor to service the CNG station, with its request for “fixed price” bids open through tomorrow.

As part of the grand opening there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and light refreshments will be served.
